Forest Schools are nature-based communities where trained practitioners nurture learner led exploration and discovery, nurturing meaningful experiences for positive lifelong impacts.
Wellbeing is the foundation of our practice and through recognising the social, emotional and physical needs of participants we provide the guidance and facilitation for our time in nature.
Through creating learner inspired experiences based on exploration and discovery, we recognise opportunities to mentor holistic growth over the course of long-term programmes.
We develop community, we nurture a culture based on collaboration and embrace challenge so that we can allow, over time, for the blossoming of character, resilience and empathy, and for a greater sense of connection, with nature and for our shared future.
The Wilderness Grove Forest School is celebrating its success at keeping our Recognised Forest School Provider status for a second year by offering children an opportunity to experience ‘good practice’ Forest School.
In October 2017, the Forest School Association (FSA) - the UK’s professional body and voice for all things Forest School - launched a new scheme to recognise Forest School Providers who demonstrated that they are following good Forest School practice - the FSA Recognised Forest School Provider scheme.
The Forest School Association is the professional body and UK wide voice for Forest School, promoting best practice, cohesion and 'quality Forest School for all'. Its charitable purpose is "the advancement of education for public benefit through promotion and support of quality Forest School in the United Kingdom using any means to enable all children, young people and adults to benefit from increased opportunities for high quality and varied educational experiences in the natural world."
Transmission rates are known to be significantly lower outside.
The entire Forest School experience can happen outside.
Outdoor hand washing facilities are provided onsite in multiple locations.
Customers will be asked to bring individual hand towels to the site to dry hands. These will be taken home by the individuals and laundered please.
Any equipment used is quarantined or cleaned in line with national guidance.
There is maximum of 2 sessions per day in the woods to enable cleaning of equipment between groups.
Customers attending The Wilderness Grove will be asked to attend regular sessions to minimise contact between different groups.
Customers will be asked not to attend if they feel unwell with COVID 19 symptoms.
If at anytime, the Forest School leader starts to fell unwell, she will leave immediately, go home and monitor their condition.
If symptoms persist beyond 24 hours, they will get a COVID-19 test undertaken and inform the school and any other persons they has been in contact with, of the outcome.
Contact details will be asked for and used as part of "Track and Trace".
